Professor Amre Shahwan is Consultant Paediatric Clinical Neurophysiologist and Epileptologist. He trained in Dublin, Ireland initially then with more specialised EEG and Epilepsy in Melbourne, Australia at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
He has been Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist and Epileptologist at Temple Street Children’s University Hospital, Dublin, Ireland (known now as CHI at Temple Street) since 2008. He specialises in paediatric EEG and video EEG telemetry which are his main areas of expertise. He works very closely with the paediatric neurology department in Temple Street and with his paediatric neurology colleagues across Ireland, consulting mainly on EEG studies and paediatric epilepsy. Professor Shahwan is a keen teacher and educator, being deeply invested and involved in medical education at both undergraduate (RCSI) and post-graduate (paediatric NCHDs and fellows) levels in paediatric epilepsy and paediatric EEG.
