Dr. Luc Martens

Luc Martens is an emeritus senior professor from the Ghent University. His main interests were Paediatric Dentistry, Special needs dentistry and Cariology. Luc Martens is founder member and past president of the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry (EAPD), founder member of the Belgian academy of Paediatric Dentistry (BAPD) and past-president of the International Association of Disability and oral Health (iADH). Regarding his scientific activities, he promoted/co-promoted 12 doctoral theses and authored/co-authored  about 260 manuscripts. In the last 15 years the main focus of research was on bioactive materials used in dental traumatology and deep carious lesions.
