Marije Kaan, M.Sc, is a dentist and PhD-candidate at the Department of Preventive Dentistry at Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA) and a researcher at Municipal Health Services (GGD) in Amsterdam. She was awarded the CED-IADR Robert Frank award in 2019. She is involved in teaching undergraduate students and is a member of the Infection Prevention Committee (HIP) at ACTA and the Assessment committee at the Quality Register for Dentists (KRT). She is head of clinic at a private dental practice in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (Maaspoort). Her research focusses on oral microbiome development in children and their family members in relation to oral and general health.
